Midway has announced that the Greatest Hits and Platinum Hits versions of Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance has shipped for the PlayStation 2 and Xbox, respectively. The GameCube Player's Choice version will be coming out on Oct. 27. As a result, will soon need only to shell out $19.99 in order to purchase the title on any console.
Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance, which was originally released in November of last year, has revitalized the classic fighting series -- thought by many to be pretty much dead after a series of mediocre titles. However, this newest incarnation features a redesigned combat system, with some even calling it the best Mortal Kombat game ever. The game features many classic characters well-known to longtime players of the series, such as Sub-Zero, Scorpion and Johnny Cage. Overall, the title has sold more than 2 million copies worldwide across all three consoles.
