News: Upcoming poker game will allow PS2 and PSP users to battle it out online.

It's impossible to throw a rock in a game store these days without hitting a poker title. While most of them have been budget releases, a few stand out in the crowd. In a few months, Myelin Media is joining them with Stacked for the PS2, PSP, Xbox and PC. And they've got an ace up their sleeve to keep Stacked from sliding to the back.

People that own both the PS2 and PSP versions will be able to sync their in-game profile into one mega-profile. This way players can keep all of their information updated whether they're playing at home or away. The developers at 5000ft have also managed to setup the online network so that PS2 and PSP owners can sit at the same online tables for a single hand or a full blown tournament.

While it would seem obvious, this is the first time this PS2-PSP connectedness has ever been done.

"Stacked continues to push the boundaries of video game technology with interoperability between the PlayStation 2 and PSP system versions of the game," said Ken Woo, producer at Myelin Media. "In addition to the revolutionary learning artificial intelligence system, players will be able to compete online with other gamers on the PlayStation 2 or the PSP system for the first time ever, setting a new standard for online competition."

Sadly, Xbox and PC users will not be able to buy their way into this feature.

Stacked ships in May.
