News: New entries in the Contra, Silent Hill, DDR, Suikoden, and Ys series are all on tap for 2004. Plus... Female Wrestling!
Konami today unveiled the eight games they have on tap for release in 2004. And fans of Konami's big series' should be more than pleased to look at the final list. All of these games are planned for a release in the fall. Let's start with the new titles:
Nanobreaker (PS2)
Nanobreaker is a 3D action game that puts you in the shoes of a futuristic samurai with a shape-shifting Plasma Blade that has to save the world from evil nanites.
WWX: Rumble Rose (PS2)
Wrestling experts Yuke's are going to the mat once again. And this time it's with women. Play as Dixie Clements and Reiko Hinomoto or many of the other unannounced vixens of the ring.
Shaman King (PS2 and GBA)
Konami plans to create a PS2 and GBA game based on the popular anime show.
And now on to the big sequels:
Ys VI: The Arc of Napishtim (Unknown Consoles)
Konami has purchased the console rights to the sixth game of the Ys role playing series and plans to expand it for release on unspecified consoles for the fall.
Suikoden IV (PS2)
Suikoden IV features the return of the 108 Stars of Destiny, as well as an enhanced graphical interface in a new oceanic environment. Konami has taken the renowned role playing game franchise to new heights with significant enhancements.
Silent Hill 4: The Room (PS2 and Xbox)
For the first time a Silent Hill game will release simaltaneously for the PS2 and Xbox. This time a man named Henry Townshend is trapped in an apartment building and has to use portals that lead to an alternate dimension to figure out a way to escape.
DDR Extreme (PS2)
Dance Dance Revolution to the extreme! The press release says it all: more licensed songs, more features and more game modes than ever before!
And my own personal favorite:
Neo Contra (PS2)
Neo Contra is Konami's latest attempt to bring Contra into the third dimension, which we told you about two days ago. It will feature side scrolling, overhead and 3D sections. But the best part, the Spread Gun returns!
We at Gaming Target will be eagerly tracking the progress of these games and we'll have more information in the coming weeks.
