News: THQ and Pandemic are readying Destroy All Humans! 2.
THQ announced that Crypto 137 will be returning to the PS2 and Xbox this fall in the next chapter of the Destroy All Humans! saga.
OK, maybe saga is the wrong word, but Destory All Humans! was one of my favorite games of 2005 and THQ is saying the sequel will be bigger and better. Once again developed by Pandemic Studios, Destroy All Humans! 2 brings the action into the 60s and the era of free love and cold war.
"Destroy All Humans! illustrates THQ's commitment to developing innovative and original games, and it accomplished impressive sales success by achieving Greatest Hits and Platinum Hits status less than a year after launch," said Kelly Flock, executive vice president, Worldwide Publishing, THQ. "Destroy All Humans! 2 builds upon everything people loved about the first game, adds tons of new features and gives fans of the original and newcomers something to get excited about later this year."
DAH2 will feature Crypto attempting to destroy the rest of humanity with trips to Soviet Russia, Japan and Great Britain. New weapons and mental abilities will be added to Crypto's arsenal, but the screams of humanity will be the same. The humor of the first game will also carry over to DAH2 with plenty of new targets including hippies, communists and the sexual revolution.
Crypto will be taking on secret agents, Soviet Forces, ninja warriors and genetic mutations in the Godzilla mode and he won't be doing it alone. Pandemic has said that Destroy All Humans! 2 will include a multiplayer co-op mode.
"We are pulling out all the stops for the sequel, adding multiplayer co-op, five new open-worlds to explore and the same irreverent humor that was a hallmark of the first Destroy All Humans! game," said Pandemic President Josh Resnick. "With the new 60s era setting, we have plenty of new material to work with -- from Hippies and British spy movies to Japanese monster flicks."
We'll have more on Destroy All Humans! 2 soon.
