News: The popular anime just keeps growing.

Atari announced today that more Dragon Ball Z games are coming to the PS2 this year.

First up will be Super DBZ, a Dragon Ball fighter from the newly formed studio headed by Street Fighter II creator Noritaka Funamizu, Crafts & Meister. Super DBZ will feature 18 DBZ favorites (including Goku, Gohan and Vegeta), all performing unique attacks and combos.

"Super DBZ takes the DBZ franchise into authentic arcade fighter territory," said Cyril Voiron, Marketing Director, Atari Europe. "This is something new and different for the DBZ series and will mesmerize gamers with its intense gameplay and technical combo systems. Bandai are working with an excellent new studio to develop this impressive title, and Crafts & Meister's hand-to-hand combat pedigree radiates throughout Super DBZ."

Super DBZ is scheduled for a July 2006 release.

Next is the inevitable Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 2, once again developed by Spike. Scheduled for a Winter 2006 release, DBZ:BT2 will feature "a rich story mode that spans the entire Dragon Ball, DBZ, and Dragon Ball GT series."

"The game takes the acrobatic and intense 3D flying and fighting dynamic made popular in last year's hit and takes it to a whole new level with over 100 playable characters, 15 vast and vibrant 3D destructible environments, and nine different game modes, including intense single and multiplayer battles," Atari also said.

We'll have more on all the DBZ you can shake a Super-Saiyan at soon.
