News: Mercenaries 2: World in Flames will bring it's mayhem to next-gen consoles.
Pandemic Studios announced late yesterday that they are bringing Mercenaries 2: World in Flames to next-generation consoles sometime in the future. It's unclear if LucasArts will be publishing the sequel or if Pandemic has gone courting a new publisher (Destroy All Humans! partner THQ perhaps?).
"While the original Mercenaries' high-octane, go anywhere, do anything and blow the crap out of everything style was a hit with gamers, the whole experience was screaming to run on next-generation game systems," explains Pandemic CEO Andrew Goldman. "And while we're building on the core mercenary experience we created for the original, we've taken full advantage of next-gen technology to offer a more richly detailed, reactive, living world than gamers have ever seen before."
Mercenaries 2 is the mysterious "Project Q" that Pandemic has mentioned before. But other that, we don't know much of anything. They have promised more information on the game will be revealed at E3. But in the meantime they have a series of teaser images available at their website.
We'll have more on Mercenaries 2: World in Flames next week.
