News: Big Boss is back.
After two iterations of Metal Gear Acid, Konami is giving PSP owners what they really want, the full Metal Gear Solid experience.
Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops is coming to the PSP this winter. Picking up right where Metal Solid 3 left off, players will once again play as Big Boss. Konami describes the story like this:
"Big Boss establishes FOXHOUND in an attempt to hunt down the treacherous FOX unit, which has started a bloody revolt in South America. Set in 1970, the game will be the missing link in the ongoing Metal Gear saga, as players will learn more about returning characters such as Para-Medic, Major Zero and Sigint and also witness Big Boss' greatest tragedy that sets into motion the events of later games in the Metal Gear Solid timeline."
Like many PSP titles, the game will feature a handheld enhanced third person camera. And like all the Metal Gear Solid games before, Portable Ops will inlcude voice-acted cinematics to propel the story forward.
Players will also be able to recruit NPC soldiers in the war against the FOX unit. Through their actions, players can recruit different NPC types to suit their own style.
Portable Ops will also include online multiplayer and team multiplayer options.
We'll have more soon.
