News: Driven to stores by truck, by boat and by plane.
Atari has announced that they have shipped 2,500,000 copies of their highly anticipated sequel Driver 3 to stores across the world. After numerous delays, the finished product is finally in stores for the PS2, Xbox and PC and Atari couldn't be happier:
"Our worldwide shipment is right in line with our plan for DRIV3R," said Bruno Bonnell, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Atari. "The global Driver fan base is as robust and passionate as ever, as indicated by retail reaction in the U.S., the U.K., Germany, France, and other key territories," Mr. Bonnell stated.
In spite of middling reviews thus far, EB Games has reported strong sales of the title. "With just three days of sales, DRIV3R is certain to be one of our top three sellers for the month of June. We had high expectations for the title and it is meeting them," said Debbie Mola, Divisional Vice President of Merchandising.
We'll have our full review on one of those 2.5 million copies here at Gaming Target very soon.
