News: Finally! A final (and official) release date.

Square-Enix has finally announced an official release date for their oft-delayed RPG Final Fantasy XII. So if you had any plans for Halloween this year, break 'em, because FF12 is being released on October 31, 2006.

The game will be available in a $49.99 "standard edition" and a $59.99 Collector's Edition available exclusively at GameStop and EB Games. The Collector's Edition will include a bonus DVD that will include "Japanese and American promotional trailers, in-depth developer interviews, an art gallery and featurettes focusing on highlights of the Final Fantasy franchise". It will also ship in special packaging.

We'll, obviously, have a lot more on Final Fantasy XII in the future.
