News: Agent 47 is taking a breather so Kane & Lynch: Dead Man can be the next stars from IO.
IO Interactive, the development team behind the Hitman series, has revealed their next project: Kane & Lynch: Dead Men.
According to Eidos, the game's publisher, "Kane & Lynch: Dead Men is a dark and gritty tale of two men bound by circumstance as they wait on death row for their final sentence. One is a flawed mercenary, the other a medicated psychopath. The two are forced to embark on a violent and chaotic journey, hating each other every step of the way."
Eidos has also said that Kane & Lynch is a "story-driven, fully co-operative third-person action shooter title, with intuitive crew mechanics, heavily populated destructible real-world scenarios, a volatile partnership and brutal attitude."
УNo gamer will have experienced anything like this before, both graphically and in terms of gameplay. Take IO's innovation and graphical excellence from the Hitman series, add some of their widely acclaimed squad expertise from Freedom Fighters, then take these to a new level in next-generation technology. Add a gripping story, an anti-hero and a psychopath and you get Kane & Lynch: Dead Men; the ultimate next generation experience,Ф said Larry Sparks, Global Head of Brands Management at Eidos.
While the story scenarios are completely different, the two-player coopoerative mechanics make Kane & Lynch sound very similar to EA's previously announced Army of Two. The two games will be in direct competition next year as Kane & Lynch will be released on the Xbox 360 and PC sometime in 2007.
