First FIFA 07 details @ Gaming Target

News: EA Sports is back with another rendition of the beautiful game.

With the 2006 World Cup just a memory at this point, EA Sports is looking towards their next iteration of FIFA Soccer.

FIFA 07 is once again being developed by EA Canada and is coming October 3 to the PC, PS2, Xbox, GameCube, PSP, DS and GBA and EA has released some of the first details.

FIFA 07 will include the real world schedules of 28 top leagues including the MLS and Mexican 1st Division. Online modes will naturally be included, along with a new mode called EA Sports Interactive Leagues that will allow players to support their club as they play along with the real schedule.

EA has also said that this version of FIFA will include the most advanced AI they've ever had.

"We are still innovating the gameplay in our current-gen game, and this year, the new online Interactive Leagues will bring together soccer fans from around the world and allow them to experience the glory and shame of their clubs, 24/7," said Joe Booth, producer of FIFA 07.

The PS2 and PSP versions will also feature profile sharing via USB so players can start their league at home on their PS2 and then take it on the road with their PSP.

EA Sports Interactive Leagues: Represent your club online against your rivals throughout the season in the F.A. Premier League, Bundesliga, French League or Mexican 1st Division. When they play, you play. Win and drive your club closer to glory. Lose and see your team plummet to the bottom of the table. Weekly podcasts include user interviews that broadcast your glory to the world.

Improved Gameplay: Passing and positioning have all been enhanced. Players jostle and collide realistically while trying to win balls. New ball physics accurately recreate bouncing, skidding and topspin. Signature moves and playing styles for the stars have been authentically captured.

Set Plays: Use the left analog stick to apply topspin or backspin to the ball for more creative set plays and finesse shots.

New Shooting Mechanics: Experience a more sophisticated shooting mechanic that gives you greater control for pin-point accuracy.

Advacned Goalkeeper AI: Goalkeeper intelligence is authentic, with true-to-life reactions and a greater variety of deflections and saves.
