News: This is equal to Nintendo releasing Super Mario World, Mario Kart, Zelda: LttP and Super Metroid all in one package.
This morning Sega announced their most comprehensive compilation yet for the PS2 and PSP: the Sega Genesis Collection. The Genesis Collection will include over 30 games that defined the 16-bit era and made a great number of people gamers for life.
Backbone Entertainment, the kings of the compilation will be handling development duties and they plan to stuff the set with extra features including "interviews with the original developers, a museum area with interesting facts, a hint area and Sega arcade games from the Genesis era."
The PSP version will also offer wireless multiplayer, although Sega hasn't said whether it will be local or online play.
"SEGA has always been, and will continue to be, an innovator of gaming technologies," said Scott A. Steinberg, Vice President of Marketing, SEGA of America, Inc. "The Genesis was the first 16-bit gaming system released in 1989, setting a new standard for gaming hardware technology for years to come. SEGA Genesis Collection will take gamers back to experience the golden age of gaming during the 1990s."
