News: Classic gaming at its finest is coming to the XBLA.

We've all heard the news that the September 2006 issue of EGM would feature confirmation that Castlevania: Symphony of the Night would be coming to the Xbox Live Arcade, but that's not all the issue holds.

In addition to Konami's classic, EGM is reporting that the following titles will be available on the XBLA very soon:

Konami has lots of plans for the Arcade including the arcade classics Contra, Super Contra, Track & Field, Time Pilot and Scramble. Chances are many of you are already enjoying Frogger.

Sega has Sonic the Hedgehog High Speed in development, but it's not a new Sonic title. Instead it'll be a remade version of the original Sonic the Hedgehog. We don't know if the new name will bring new content, but we can dream.

Midway is another company with a few arcade classics in the pipe including Defender, Paperboy, Root Beer Tapper and Cyberball. But the ultimate news has to be the fact that Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 is fighting its way to the XBLA soon.

Finally, Namco has revealed that Defender and Dig-Dug will join the recently released Pac-Man and Galaga on the XBLA soon.

Rounding out the list was yet another mention of the fact that Capcom has finally released Street Fighter II: Hyper Fighting to the Arcade. We can all sleep easier at night.
