News: More alternate reality WWII. This time the Nazis invade America!
Spark Unlimited, the team behind Call of Duty: Finest Hour, has been making a lot of noise recently by signing deals with several publishers but then leaving us hanging on the details. No more, because today Codemasters has announced they will be publishing Spark's next project, Fall of Liberty, in late 2007.
Fall of Liberty asks the question "What if Churchill never survived being hit by a taxi in 1931?" Fall of Liberty then answers this question by saying that without Churchill's leadership, the Nazis would steamroll over the Allies in WWII and rule all of Europe by 1945. Jump forward six years and, in the world of Fall of Liberty, the Nazis invade the US on December 7, 1951.
This sneak attack results in a Nazi flag flying from The White House and an imminent nuclear strike on Manhattan (or the "Fall of [the Statue of] Libery").
УWe share a desire to immerse players in an incredible and intensely realistic vision of an alternative world history that will uniquely define Fall of Liberty in the FPS genre. Codemasters is providing Spark the opportunity to present something radically different than typical WWII scenarios as the player is not cast as a liberator of Europe but as a defender of freedom in enemy-occupied America.Ф
Codemasters is bringing this unique take on the WWII first person shooter to the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC. We'll have more soon.
