News: Famed vampire hunter is back and this time, it's personal.

The Collective is bringing an older, wiser and angrier version of Bram Stoker's vampire hunter Jonathan Harker to next-gen systems sometime in 2008. Needless to say, this Harker will be very different from the Harker that was played by Keanu Reeves in 1992's Bram Stoker's Dracula.

"We're very excited to be bringing the classic world of 'Dracula' to life in a new and intriguing way," said Nathan Hunt, studio head of The Collective. "We feel this story lends itself perfectly to the survival horror genre and will create a fantastic next generation experience for gamers."

The game will offer two very different kinds of play styles by combining the hunt for a vampire and the eventual "up close and personal" confrontation to dispatch them.

"'Harker's' goal is to bring an in-your-face, visceral, and personal style of combat to the survival horror genre," said Nigel Cook, producer. "None of these vampires are going to die with one shot. They're going to fight for their survival, which will give the player a huge level of satisfaction when they successfully execute one."

Harker will feature the dank alleyways and fog-covered streets of the 1700s as breeding grounds for the undead. Undead who, according to The Collective, are "blood-thirsty,
shape-shifting vampires each with their own savage abilities."

While The Collective has yet to confirm which next-gen systems Harker will come to, this first batch of bloody good screens is said to come from the Xbox 360 version.

We'll have more on Harker soon.
