News: The Sims 3, SimCity 5, Black Next-Gen... why does everyone hate EA again?

GameSpot is reporting that EA has revealed some big projects in their quarterly conference call today:

  • First, Army of Two (Xbox 360, PS3) and Crysis (PC) will both ship sometime in EA's next fiscal year, which is anytime after March 31, 2007.

  • A Sims game is coming to both the PS3 and Wii. The Wii will get a Wii-specific version of The Sims will the PS3 will get The Sims 2: Holiday Edition. Neither game has a release date.

  • SimCity 5 and Black Next-Gen were also confirmed as in development. A new Lord of the Rings game was also mentioned, but it is likely the previously announced White Council RPG.

  • Finally, the BIGGEST announcement to come out of the call came when EA CFO Warren Jenson confirmed that The Sims 3 is in development and that its going to ship sometime in 2008-2009. So Sims fans, prepare to wait.

We'll have more on all of these titles soon.
