News: Oh yeah...

Microsoft and Bungie have announced today (on the 5th anniversary of the release of the original Halo) a few new and exciting Halo tidbits.

First and foremost, a multiplayer demo of Halo 3 will be available on Xbox Live in Spring 2007. Sure that's a long wait, but it is proof that Halo 3 is on track for its 2007 release.

Second, gamers will get a new look at Halo 3 over the television airwaves on December 4. Microsoft will air a sixty second commercial for Halo 3 that, like Apple's infamous 1984 ad, will only air once. The channel and time for this ad have yet to be revealed.

Finally, Microsoft wants everyone to know that Halo 2 is still alive and well. The popular Xbox One shooter will get a set of new multiplayer maps in the Spring which will be available exclusively to Xbox 360 owners.

We'll keep you posted on all things Halo in the future. But in the meantime, the latest issue of EGM, which features Halo 3 on the cover, is appearing in subscriber's mailboxes right now.
