News: Control that blob of goo with your Wiimote.
Ignition Entertainment has announced they are bringing a new Mercury game, dubbed Mercury Meltdown Revolution, to the Wii next Spring.
MMR can be controlled by tilting the Wiimote which will in turn tilt the game board so players can "guide a liquid mercury Сblob', around traps, door switches, spikes, moving floors and other hazardous elements in order to complete the level." The game will also support the GameCube and Wii Classic controllers for a more traditional control scheme.
For those of you with long memories, you may recall that the first Mercury game, for the PSP, was designed with tilt control in mind. Ignition planned to release a motion-sensing USB device that would have plugged into the PSP and given the game the tilt controls now possible with the Wiimote. Sadly, the USB dongle was never released.
УThe unique control method associated with the Wii means that Mercury Meltdown Revolution will provide the ultimate Mercury experience,Ф said Peter Rollinson, Product Manager, Ignition Entertainment Ltd.
