News: Popular Flash game getting the console treatment.

inXile Entertainment has announced they've acquired the video game rights to Line Rider. The popular Flash game (which can be found at Official-LineRider.com) allows players to draw any twisty, turny line they want. When they're finished, they send a sledder down the line until he wipes out. The site was launched on September 23 and since then has received over 15 million viewers.

Line Rider will be coming to the DS and the Wii (two systems perfect for drawing lines with a pencil-like interface) in Spring 2007. The game has been described as a "toy" by its creator, Bostjan Cadez, as there is no timed sections or points system to the game and the game "ends" after the sledder crashes. It's unknown what kind of new features inXile will add to make Line Rider feel more like a "game".

"Line Rider began its life as a project I did for illustration class," commented Cadez, who created Line Rider in his native Slovenia. УAs much as people see it as a game I think of it as a toy because there is no score and no one wins or loses while playing Line Rider. I'm looking forward to working with inXile entertainment on the new Nintendo DS and Nintendo Wii versions as they will bring added gameplay and features."

We'll have more on Line Rider soon.
