Eurogamer is reporting that Ikaruga has appeared on Partnernet, the closed version of Xbox Live that is restricted to debug units given to developers and some journalists.
For those that never experienced the sheer joy that is Ikaruga, the game is a top down shooter in the tradition of 1942 and Raiden. It was developed by Treasure, the masters of the shooter genre that were also responsible for Gunstar Heroes and Radiant Silvergun. And it, with it's white and black weapon/shield system, was one of the most beautifully difficult games ever created.
While Ikaruga's appearance on Partnernet is not confirmation the game is coming to the Live Arcade, Treasure has confirmed they are working on something 360-related.
Hopefully we'll find out the truth soon.
