EA has announced they will be resurrecting the Wing Commander series this Summer when they bring Wing Commander Arena to the Xbox Live Arcade.
Wing Commander Arena will be focused on the multiplayer experience as EA and developer Gaia are promising the game will include 16-player battles.
The game will include four different modes including single player, multi-team, multi-player free for all and multi-player duel.
"We're really excited to deliver unparalleled multi-player arcade action," said Chip Lange, EA Vice President. "The design for Wing Commander will appeal to both long-time fans of the franchise and immediately engage anyone who wants the melee style action of an arcade shooter."
Once again, Wing Commander Arena will bring space shooter combat to the XBLA this Summer.
