News: I am the Dark Lego Knight!
Warner Brothers Interactive has told Hollywood trade magazine Variety that they will be bringing Lego Batman to "multiple consoles" in 2008. The company has tapped the brickmasters at Traveller's Tales to do for Batman what they did for Star Wars.
According to the Variety report, Lego Batman will "follow a similar template" to Lego Star Wars. So ecpect a ton of playable characters, Lego-based platforming puzzles and a few vehicles levels (like the Lego Batmobile!).
Lego Batman was rumored months ago by the site Computer and Video Games, but it's good to finally know it's coming for sure.
And the next time someone has something nasty to say about video game journalism, remember this sentence from the Variety's Lego Batman report:
"Vidgame is one of just a few that Warner is publishing itself, rather than licensing to outsiders. Studio recently released a game based on "300" and has a "Looney Tunes" title coming out this fall. A "Dirty Harry" game was expected in 2008, though the studio recently ended its contract with developer the Collective, which may delay the game's release."
