It's been a while since Ubisoft has given eager gamers any information about their next-gen installment to the Brothers in Arms franchise, dubbed Hell's Highway. That all changed last week when Ubisoft lifted their Уpress blackoutФ and released a new trailer during their Ubidays events. The trailer is only about a minute long, but it's packed with all-new footage.
The trailer shows some amazing visual features, including a wood fence that splinters under automatic rifle fire. There are also a few impressive slow-motion explosions with plenty of bits of brick and earth flying about for that real-combat feel. Previews accompanying the new footage mention two major changes to BiA gameplay: addition of a third-person cover system (like Rainbow Six: Vegas) and a regenerating health system complete with a flashing red screen along the lines of Call of Duty 2. But why not take a look for yourself:
Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway is the third game in Gearbox Software's original WWII series known for its innovative squad combat interface, a great storyline, and an obsessive faithfulness to recreating authentic locations in-game. Previous installments played the D-Day invasion from different perspectives while Hell's Highway will take things north to the ill-fated Operation Market Garden airdrop. History buffs will know that the operation ended up with Allied troops surrounded and fighting house-to-house in some of the nastiest battles of the war.
Hell's Highway is currently slated for a Q4 2007 release.
