News: SNK will bring out Fatal Fury: Battle Archives Volume 1 this summer.

SNK Playmore has announced that Fatal Fury: Battle Archives Volume 1 will be coming to the PS2 this summer. Battle Archives collects the first four Fatal Fury fighting games: Fatal Fury, Fatal Fury 2, Fatal Fury 3 and Fatal Fury Special.

The Fatal Fury series is unique among 2D fighters in that it includes a two-plane screen setup. So, for example, in the middle of the fight it is possible to avoid an opponent's attacks by leaping to the background while they stay in the foreground and vice versa.

"With the release of Fatal Fury: Battle Archives Volume 1 for the PlayStation 2 system, a brand-new generation of gamers will be introduced to one of SNK Playmore's fighting classics," said Ben Herman, president of SNK Playmore, "and gamers who loved playing Fatal Fury in the arcades will relish the chance to revisit the golden age of 2D fighters."

We'll have more on Fatal Fury: Battle Archives Volume 1 soon.
