News: The company has further licensed the rights to Saw and 39 others.

A new startup, Brash Entertainment, has made a brash move according to the online edition of The Wall Street Journal. It was revealed in an article posted to the WSJ website today that Brash has secured $400 million from investors and will be using that money to solely work on movie-based games.

The company has licensed the rights to 40 films from five Hollywood studios and development has already begun on 12 of these properties. A press release issued by Brash revealed the company is working on "multiple games" based on the Saw franchise. A news article in Variety further confirmed that Brash has also licensed the rights to the blockbuster 300.

Brash was created by Nicholas Longano and Mitch Davis, the two guys who created the "Massive" in-game advertising software and Thomas Tull, the Chairman of Legendary Pictures (Batman Begins, 300). The three have struck a deal with Warner Bros Interactive to publish Brash-developed titles, so it's a safe bet to assume a few Warner Brothers film properties are part of the 40.

Brash will not create the games in-house, but will partner with other independant development houses to develop the games.

We'll have more on all of Brash Entertainment's brash dealings soon.
