News: We're living in a society here...

EA has confirmed that SimCity Societies will be hitting the PC this fall (November to be exact). The game is being developed by Tilted Mill while Maxis puts the finishing touches on Spore and they've also gone and revealed a bunch of new details.

Not only will players be creating buildings in this new SimCity, but a lifestyle as well. According to EA, players will be responbile for "their cultures, societal behaviors and environments." Making changes to these societal constructs can lead to the creation of "an artistic city, haunted town, green city, spiritual community or most any society you want." This is further affected by the ebb and flow of "social energies" such as industry, wealth, obedience, knowledge, devotion, or creativity. All of these elements react to shape your city.

While Rome wasn't built in a day, the first building is very important and EA has said SimCity Socieities will have over 350 different building types in a "wide range of architectural periods ranging from the realistic to the fanciful; from the industrial age to futuristic designs."

Once again, SimCity Societies is scheduled for a November release. We'll have more soon.
