News: Realistic motorcycle racing action from Capcom and Milestone.
While THQ currently has the rights to publish MotoGP titles on the Xbox 360 and PC, Capcom recently inked a deal with the motorcycle racing circuit to bring games based on the sport to PlayStation platforms. The first game to come out of this deal will be developed by Milestone and it is currently known as MotoGP 07 (THQ's next Xbox 360/PC game is also known as MotoGP 07).
Capcom is striving for realism for MotoGP 07 and they plan to include every rider, bike, team and track from the 2007 season in the game. Players will also have the option of truly becoming the rider by being able to independently control the front brakes, the back brakes and the rider's position.
This realism can be hard on newcomers to the game, so Capcom has said that nearly everything can be customized to make the game more balanced. These include adding "riding aids" to the track and adjusting your opponent's speed and ability to more closely match your own.
The game will feature lots of racing options including a season mode, a custom season, single race and multiplayer modes. The game will have over 100 "Challenges" to... challenge... players including a slalom race and time trials.
Other features of MotoGP include:
Riders and their bikes, teams and all 18 official tracks from the 2007 season faithfully and painstakingly re-created
Unique Game modes including - Championship / Quick race / Time Attack / Challenges/ Multiplayer
Selectable riding models to suit your skill-set and style
A variety of immersive and challenging opponent behavioural models to select depending on ability
Challenging weather effects
Accurate physics models based on real data
Motorbike sound-effects recorded from actual MotoGP bikes
We'll have more on MotoGP 07 soon.
