News: Three other exclusive titles will arrive on Nintendo platforms as well.
Midway has announced they will be bringing five exclusive games to Nintendo platforms this November including the first Mortal Kombat title for the DS and a new Cruis'n game for the Wii.
"Nintendo is very excited to be working with Midway to have these great brands and new products come exclusively to Wii and Nintendo DS," said George Harrison, senior vice president, marketing and corporate communications, Nintendo of America Inc. "These new games paired with the unique controls of Wii and Nintendo DS will continue to expand videogames to new audiences."
Ultimate Mortal Kombat will be a DS port of the still very popular Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3. But it will also include the Puzzle Kombat minigame from Mortal Kombat: Deception along with a "new record-keeping capability" and multiplayer over Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection.
Meanwhile, the next Cruis'n game will be brand new and exclusive to the Wii. The classic arcade racing will be reborn "through twelve different street circuits using the Wii Remote to steer and perform outrageous stunts." Players will also be able to upgrade the licensed cars with "turbos, body kits, neon and nitrous."
Hopefully this new edition of Cruis'n will fare better than Midway's reboot of the Rush franchise a few years ago.
Midway has three other games planned including Game Party, a Wii Sports-like minigame collection for the Wii and two handheld titles: Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends: Imagination Invaders (DS) and The Bee Game (DS and GBA). Details on those can be found below:
Game Party (Wii) - Game Party for the Wii is a collection of classic skill games from around the world, from American sports venues to European gathering spots. Using the Wii's unique control interface, you can play classics such as darts; modern favorites such as table hockey and hoop shoot, or participate in multiplayer trivia contests. More than a half dozen games are available. It's the ultimate party game.
Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends: Imagination Invaders (DS) - For the first time on the Nintendo DS experience the fun of Cartoon Network's hit show in Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends: Imagination Invaders, playing as head mischief-maker Blooregard Q. Kazoo. Goo has done it again...her overactive imagination has conjured up a group of diabolical cosmic invaders, the Space Nut Boogies. They've raided Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends and taken Madame Foster hostage in search of The Greatest Thing in the Universe, and it's up to you to stop them! Play as Bloo as you explore the Foster's house, sneak past the Space Nut Boogie guards, and gather Mac, Coco, Eduardo and the rest of the gang to rescue Madame Foster!
The Bee Game (DS & Game Boy Advance) - The Bee Game for Nintendo DS and Game Boy Advance lets players experience the adventures of Maya the Bee and her friend Willie as they search for their friends. A strong storm has blown through corn poppy meadow and some of the residents of the hive are now missing! Help Maya and Willie by taking on challenges and completing mini-games to find clues in the meadow, dark forest, blue pond, deep caverns and the garden to locate the other bees.
We'll have more on all five titles soon.
