News: Bomberman will, dare I say, blow up on Xbox Live.

In a little non-E3 related news, Microsoft has announced that next week's Xbox Live Arcade offerings will be Bomberman Live (from Hudson) and the arcade classic Yie Ar Kung Fu (from Konami).

In addition to the four-player local multiplayer, eight-player online matches and character customization options, Bomberman Live will offer these features:

  • Prove you're the best: Play at home with up to four players or hop online and challenge the best Bombermen (and women!) from around the world with up to eight players
  • Fully customisable Bomberman: With over 10,000 possible combinations, players can customise Bomberman Ц from the gladiator outfit to the clown costume, or mix and match! Players can make Bomberman as cute or menacing as they like
  • Do battle in eight exotic locations: Compete in eight striking arenas, each with their own traps and gimmicks
  • Annihilate enemies with power-ups: Destroy blocks to reveal 16 distinct power-ups (and power-downs)

Bomberman Live will be available for 800 Microsoft Points.

Not to be outdone, Konami will be unleashing their arcade classic Yie Ar Kung Fu on the Live Arcade as well next Wednesday. Available for 400 Microsoft Points, Yie Ar Kung Fu is the quintessential martial arts game that will now be playable in original and enhanced modes. According to Microsoft the enhanced mode will feature "stunning hand painted models and backgrounds mimicking traditional Japanese art styles."

We'll have more on both of these titles soon.
