News: Harrison Ford apparently looks good in Lego.
LucasArts has announced they've teamed up with Travellers Tales (makers of Lego Star Wars and the upcoming Lego Batman) to give another famed movie trilogy the Lego treatment. That's right, Lego Indiana Jones is coming to unnamed consoles in summer 2008.
Details are sparse, but we know the game will include levels based on all three (existing) Indiana Jones movies. The company has said the currently filming fourth film will not be a part of Lego Indiana Jones.
But LucasArts and Travellers Tales have high hopes for this latest collaboration...
УLucasArts and TT Games are setting the bar for next-generation family entertainment with the Lego Star Wars franchise, and our incredible relationship continues with Lego Indiana Jones,Ф said Jim Ward, president of LucasArts. УIn addition to providing the quality bonding time inspired by any good family game, Lego Indiana Jones delivers something a little different for everyone. Parents will enjoy the humorous take on some of their favorite movies, and their kids get some rousing action/adventure gameplay that may also introduce them to Indy's original adventures for the first time.Ф
УIt has been a real joy to work with LucasArts on the Lego Star Wars games. Indiana Jones is the perfect character for the next Lego-based videogame adventure,Ф said Tom Stone, director at TT Games. УIndy also presents us with wonderful and memorable cinematic moments. The boulder scene of Raiders of the Lost Ark in Lego is hilarious!Ф
Personally, I can't wait to see Lego Sean Connery in all his glory.
LucasArts also mentioned that Indiana Jones 2007, the codename for the company's internally developed game set after The Last Crusade is still in development. However, with no news on the game's supposed 2007 release date, I think it's safe to say it's also been pushed back to 2008.
We'll have more on both Indiana Jones title soon.
