News: By Crom! How they mock me!
Funcom announced last week that their upcoming MMORPG, Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures, will now be released on March 25, 2008. An Xbox 360 version is also planned, although an official release date has never been announced for that version. The game is currently in beta testing, and Funcom claims that the beta feedback is the reason for the delay:
УWe are fully committed to delivering games with absolute qualities, and in the current MMO marketplace we know that only the best is good enough to truly succeed. With the new release date we have therefore given ourselves more time to meet and deliver on the massive expectations for the game. We are certain that our choice will ultimately pay off, and that all СAge of Conan' players will get a special online experience.Ф
Age of Conan is turning heads among PC gamers for its faithful reproduction of the brutal Hyborian Age imagined by Robert E. Howard some three quarters of a century ago. The game calls itself the Уfirst mature MMO,Ф so we'll likely see an honest depiction of the violence and sex that Howard penned for the pulp magazines so long ago.
Funcom is a pioneer in the MMO world, with Anarchy Online under its belt. They also developed the classic adventure game series The Longest Journey.
