Speed Racer

News: Go Speed Racer go!

In addition to a new live action movie (written and directed by the Wachowski brothers of The Matrix fame no less), Speed Racer will appear in a new Wii, DS and PS2 game in 2008.

The Wii and PS2 game will be developed by Sidhe Interactive (currently working on Jackass: The Game). The Wii and DS versions will ship alongside the movie's theatrical release in May 2008, while the PS2 version will be released alongside the DVD release sometime near the end of the year.

The game will feature "a car-fu racing style" and many characters from the movie and their "signature vehicles." John Gaeta, co-visual effects supervisor, has been signed by Sidhe to give the game and the movie a similar style.

We'll have more on Speed Racer (hopefully including a definition of what "car-fu" is) soon.
