News: Joe Perry seems to think so.
Aerosmith's guitarist Joe Perry sat down with Billboard magazine and laid down a few details concerning Aerosmith's next album. The group plans to go back into the studio to begin recording the untitled CD on November 1st after a mini-tour this month. They are also apparently hard at work with the makers of the Guitar Hero series on Guitar Hero IV: Aerosmith Edition
Dream on? Or reality?
According to the article, the fourth game in the popular franchise will be dedicated solely to Aerosmith songs:
Besides the album, Aerosmith is also working closely with the makers of "Guitar Hero IV," which will be dedicated to the Boston group's music. "I don't know much about the technical part of it," Perry says, "but artistically we're working hand in hand."
While it's possible Guitar Hero IV (or a Rocks the 80s-like spinoff) will be a true "Aerosmith Edition," it's more likely part of the planned downloadable content for Guitar Hero III, because Aerosmith is nothing if not "Legends of Rock." It may even be Guitar Hero's answer to Rock Band's full album downloads.
Whatever it is, I'm sure we'll find out soon.
