News: I hope the new Zapper has the same feedback click as the old one. That was awesome.
Nintendo has announced the final details of the upcoming Wii Zapper (and I'm thrilled that's the official name and not just the "prototype name"). The peripheral, which combines the Wiimote and Nunchuk into a single unit will be released on November 19th with a retail price of $19.99. The box will also include a pack-in game, Link's Crossbow Training, to give players a feel for their new Zapper.
Link's Crossbow Training will take place in the Hyrule featured in The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess and tests Link's accuracy with a crossbow. The game will progress from stationary bullseyes to moving targets to fighting off enemies.
"The Wii Zapper combines our remarkable controllers into one housing with a classic style reminiscent of arcade-style games," says George Harrison, Nintendo of America's senior vice president of marketing and corporate communications. "Both veteran and first-time players will find it brings a whole new dimension to games where targeting is key and provides even more exciting game-play experiences."
Three other titles that take advantage of the Zapper will be released this holiday season. They include Capcom's
Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles, EA's
Medal of Honor Heroes 2 and Sega's
Ghost Squad.
We'll have more on all of the Zapper-related hijinks soon.
