News: British publisher $60.8 million down. That's a lot of zeros.
British-owned SCi which acquired Eidos in 2005 has revealed its 12 month results of the year ending June 30 and has recorded a loss of $60.8 million. The company is saying the reason for this loss is the timing of its product releases and previous-generation console retail prices, which has resulted in large price protection charges of $29.4 million.
On the year's results the company's CEO Jane Cavanagh has said УDespite the challenges posed in a hardware transition year the board has continued to focus on the objective of building long-term value.Ф Big hitters for the year were Just Cause, Tomb Raider: Anniversary and Battlestations: Midway. УWe have the strongest portfolio of products moving forward in the history of the company.Ф she said.
The company has announced that it is talking about acquisitions but will not be able to offer more details just yet. Does this mean Agent 47 is going to have to grab his guns and save himself? Keep your eyes peeledЕ
