News: Get 'em while they're hot.
Nintendo has announced that all Wii systems, Wii Remotes and copies of Wii Play will now come bundled with a Wii Remote Jacket. The Jacket will provide a cushiony layer of plastic around the Wiimote so that if it is dropped (or accidentally flung across the room) the Wiimote will be protected.
But if you previously bought a Wii or a bunch of extra Wiimotes, you can get in on the Jacket racket as well. Nintendo has set up a website where Wii owners can order up to four Jackets that Nintendo will send out to them for free. You just have to have the serial number of your Wii handy and point your browser at this website:

Nintendo has said they will begin shipping the Jackets during the week of October 15th. Those without Internet access can also order their Wii Remote Jackets by calling 1-866-431-8367.
"We're always looking for ways to improve our products and make sure everyone has a safe and fun experience," says George Harrison, Nintendo of America's senior vice president of marketing and corporate communications. "Many electronics manufacturers provide similar protective covers for products like cell phones, PDAs and MP3 players."
