News: Rockstar games speaks on the second ban of Manhunt 2 in the UK.
Following our earlier report on the British Board of Film Classification denying Manhunt 2 a UK release, more news on the subject matter has been circulating around the net. Rockstar Games has released a statement saying that it would be appealing this decision.
УWe are continuing to appeal the BBFC's decision to deny the edited version of Manhunt 2 an 18+ certificate and thereby ban its release in the United Kingdom,Ф it says. УThe changes necessary in order to publish the game in Britain are unacceptable to us and represent a setback for video games. The BBFC allows adults the freedom to decide for themselves when it comes to horror in movies and we think adults should be similarly allowed to decide for themselves when it comes to horror in video games, such as Manhunt 2.Ф
In short, Rockstar wants adults in the UK to be able to freely walk into a games store, buy Manhunt 2 and go home and play it. We certainly can't see anything wrong with that.
