News: Casual publisher attempts to conquer the retail world.
PopCap Games has announced they will be bringing two collections of their games to retail outlets for the Xbox 360 and PS2 on November 15th.
PopCap Arcade Volume 1 for the Xbox 360 will include AstroPop, Bejeweled 2, Feeding Frenzy and Zuma and will retail for $29.95. These four games normally sell for 800 Microsoft Points each on the Xbox Live Arcade and would cost $40 if purchased separately.
The PlayStation 2 will also receive a PopCap collection in the form of PopCap Hits Volume 1. PopCap Hits will include AstroPop and Bejeweled 2 and retail for $19.99. This marks the first time games from PopCap will be available on the PS2.
УWe're very excited to be bringing some of our top million-selling casual games to consoles via retail shelves, and eager to see how consumers respond,Ф said Glenn Drover, Director of Retail Sales at PopCap. УWe've had tremendous success at retail with the PC versions of many of our games, and these new collections for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 2 are priced even more aggressively, so they should be a hit with holiday shoppers.Ф
We'll have more on PopCap's attempt to conquer the casual games space soon.
