News: Elder Scrolls fans who don't have the GOTY edition should be thrilled.
Up until now, PS3 owners that owned the original version of The Elder Scrolls IV had only one option if they wanted to play the Shivering Isles expansion. And that was to purchase the Oblivion Game of the Year Edition for $60 and find some poor sucker to take the original version off your hands. But all that is no longer needed as Bethesda has announced the Shivering Isles expansion will be coming to the PS3 as a standalone disc.
The Shivering Isles standalone disc will be released for the PlayStation 3 on November 20 and if you haven't had a chance to learn about it, here's what Bethesda had to say:
With more than 30 hours of new gameplay, Shivering Isles allows you to explore an entirely new plane of Oblivion Ц the realm of Sheogorath, the Daedric Prince of Madness. Shivering Isles features a bizarre landscape split between the two sides Ц Mania and Dementia Цfilled with vast, twisting dungeons mirroring the roots of the trees they are buried within. Sheogorath himself looks to you to be his champion and defend his realm and its inhabitants from destruction as you discover all new items, ingredients, spells, and much more.
We'll have more soon.
