News: Not enough units of Rock Band available for release; new bonus songs announced.
It happened with the Xbox 360 launch, it happened numerous other times and it's about to happen to Rock Band Ц during a recent EA conference it was said that the company does not expect to meet the high consumer demand for its upcoming rhythm action title, Rock Band.
УWe won't be able to put up enough inventory to meet the demand of this fiscal of calendar year,Ф said John Riccitello, EA CEO, on the Rock Band instrument bundle. There will be a lot of units available when the PS3 and 360 versions are released in North America on November 20, but your best bet would be to stick a pre-order down
right now or buy it as soon as it's out, as additional units will be hard to come by.
Riccitello went on to say УOn the 19th of November I would get in line outside your favourite retailer, because we've got one hot product, we have a lot of inventory coming Ц and my expectation is that it will sell through.Ф
EA seems to be upsetting a lot of people with Rock Band announcements of late, with a previous announcement of the $169 instrument bundle being the only choice at release. However, don't fret (pun not intended), because some more bonus songs have been announced since we last reported with new additions. These, by the way, bring the tally of known songs up to 52 of 58.
