News: Microsoft's console sells 200 more units than PS3 in the Land of the Rising Sun.
It's no secret, Microsoft has been struggling to sell consoles in Japan ever since the Xbox was released and the Xbox 360 didn't change that. We can't say why for sure Ц maybe it's a lack of games (though with the likes of Blue Dragon, Enchanted Arms and Eternal Sonata, we can't see why) or just the fact that Sony and the PlayStation brand is more established over there. Either way, the tables have turned as the 360 has outsold the PS3 by around 200 units in the latest sales figures, according to Media Create.
Microsoft's (X)box of joy sold 17,673 (previous week sales: 3718) to PS3's 17,434, thanks to Namco Bandai's new flight sim, Ace Combat 6, which launched at number two in the Japanese charts this week, following Super Mario Galaxy in first place.
Well there you have it there is a god after all. However, will there be a god next week, or will Sony's console outnumber the 360 in tradition again? We'll soon find out but read: we don't think we'll be reporting this story next week.
