News: New Plasmids, a new Achievement and 'true widescreen' included in this update.
2K Games has announced that downloadable content is now available for BioShock, their potential candidate for Game of the Year.
The new content includes four new Plasmids and Tonics, a new Achievement for the Xbox 360 and a true widescreen mode.
The new Plasmids and Tonics are:
Sonic Boom: Hurls creatures and objects back with a blast of force
EVE Saver: Enables Plasmids to use less EVE
Vending Expert: Reduces prices in the vending machines
Machine Buster: Increases the amount of damage players deal to cameras, bots and turrets
Xbox 360 owners will be able to prove they have "Brass Balls" with a new Achievement. If they can finish the game on Hard without losing a life, they'll earn the Brass Balls title and 100 points.
Finally, a "true widescreen" mode has been added to the game. This is in response to the discovery that players using the 4:3 mode see more of the screen on the top and bottom than players did in widescreen. The Horizontal Field of Vision option now zooms out the game to the same horizontal distance for everybody.
Xbox 360 owners can get the new downloadable content the next time they play BioShock while PC owners can download the patch at 2Kgames.com/bioshock/support
We'll have more on BioShock soon (hint, it's one of our favorite games of the year).
