News: Coming to PS2, PSP and PS3 this Spring.
Sony has announced MLB 08: The Show is coming to the PS2, PSP and PS3 next Spring. It is being developed by Sony's San Diego studio.
The new MLB game is a simulation geek's dream come true as Sony has thrown a ton of new features into their already highly-rated baseball game. First things first, the "Road to The Show" mode has been expanded quite a bit. According to Sony, it features "a more robust dynamic goal system and a new career advancement system." Created players will also have more options as position players "will endure more defense situations and pitchers will now experience mound visits with user interaction."
Another new feature is Progressive Batting Performance, "which will both reward players for superior performance and penalize them for hitting slumps."
PS3 and PSP owners will get even more statistics with the new Pitcher/Batter Analysis. With options to view the analysis both during the game and post game, players have the chance to see a breakdown of how a batter has performed based on LHP or RHP, pitch type and the result.
Finally, the three man announcing team of Rex Huddler, Matt Vasgerian and Dave Campbell will return in MLB 08.
We'll have more on MLB 08: The Show soon.
