News: LittleBigPlanet, Grand Theft Auto IV and Gran Turismo 5: Prologue all look to be coming later than expected.
ThreeSpeech, Sony Europe's officially unofficial blog, has posted a preview of PS3 releases in 2008 and it looks like a variety of big games may have been pushed back. While these are surely European release dates, it seems unlikely that we in North America will get them much earlier.
According to ThreeSpeech, here's what the PS3 will see in 2008:
Gran Turismo 5: Prologue will be available in March at the earliest. It was released in Japan a few days ago, so this is disappointing indeed.
GT5 will be followed by the launch of Home sometime in the Summer.
Moving into the end of the year, September or October will see the releases of three major titles: Grand Theft Auto IV, Killzone 2 and LittleBigPlanet. Aside from Killzone 2 (which has always been a late 2008 release), LBP and GTA4 had previously been penciled in for the Spring.
The blog refuses to speculate on when Metal Gear Solid 4 will ship, other than to say it'll happen sometime in 2008. Konami has previously said the game would ship sometime between April and June.
Finally, the blog mentions that God of War III and Uncharted 2 are in development (which we knew), but that they currently carry unknown release dates and might not make it out in 2008. I'm going to go out on a limb and say they definitely won't be released next year.
We'll have more on all of these titles soon.
