News: EndWar, Brothers in Arms and Far Cry 2 delayed to Fiscal 2009. Free, web-based HoMM title coming soon.
French publishing house Ubisoft delayed three big titles as part of its earnings call yesterday. Tom Clancy's EndWar (PS3 and Xbox 360), Brothers in Arms: Hell Highway (PC, PS3, Xbox 360) and Far Cry 2 (PC) have all been pushed back into the company's 2009 fiscal year. What this means for normal people is that we will see the titles at the earliest on April 1, 2008. No explicit reason for the delays were given.
The good news from the earnings call is that Ubisoft has raised its yearly outlook based on the strong sales of Assassin's Creed for the PS3 and Xbox 360. The game has sold over 2.5 million copies to date.
Also announced during the earnings call is a new property in the Heroes of Might & Magic franchise. The long running strategy franchise will see a free, web-based, persistent strategy game launched in Spring 2008 with a beta beginning in early 2008. You can sign up for beta access via the official website.
