News: Judge rules in their favor and Activision can continue selling Guitar Hero Encore: Rocks the 80s.
When we last left The Romantics, the popular 80s band was suing Activision because the cover version of "What I Like About You"
they authorized for Guitar Hero Encore: Rocks the 80s sounded too close to the original. They wanted Activision to stop selling the game or (presumably) pay them a little more money.
As of this Monday's ruling in Detroit, it looks like they will get neither. Judge Edmunds ruled in favor of Activision and stated that the company did everything they were supposed to do when developing their product.
So if you thought your copy of Guitar Hero Encore: Rocks the 80s would become a collector's item after "What I Like About You" was removed, I guess you'll have to make different plans for your retirement.
