News: A new Croft Manor, new locations and a love story? The hype continues.
Tomb Raider Underworld news hits online, as French PSM3 magazine deliver even more information for hungry fans. After a recent spurge of images emerged online, more information about the games new engine mechanics, setting and possible love story come into light.
With many gamers, Tomb Raider titles are wearing a little thin. I grew up with Lara and believe Crystal Dynamics is doing a fantastic job with her revival. After a remake of the original, it's time for Lara to take the next step. More adventure, suspense and mystery - that's really what a Tomb Raider boils down to. With a revamp of the games engine, introduction to some motion capture and a captivating story line will her Legend live on for new fans?
"The beauty is back and, and even in our most torrid dreams, she's never been so seductive. As if she had always been there, buried in the depths of our fantasies, she finally stood there, ready to fulfil our gamer desires."
According to PSM3 Tomb Raider Underworld's 'Croft Manor' will be making a comeback. Plenty of gadgets, weapons and obstacles will fill the mansion and finally put it back to a training level, rather than a mandatory part of the game.
Also revealed is more details on locations Lara will be visiting. So far the list includes Australia, Rome, Easter Island, the Vatican, Mesopotamia and the Golden Triangle - "An underwater level is also anticipated". Although little is known about a love story, I can't imagine who they have lined up for Lara. Maybe characters from the Tomb Raider movies will appear, as that is the only time I felt any real chemistry between Lara and another. You can read the translated article at the
Tomb Raider Forums. The game has an expected release of late 2008 but an official announcement by Eidos will hit early next year.
