News: Dean Takahashi of the San Jose Mercury News has the scoop.
Dean Takahashi is the man on the inside at Microsoft. After writing the book The Xbox 360 Uncloaked, I guess it's easy to get an insider's line with the guys who make the console. And a few guys ago he popped up with another interesting bit of news on The (San Jose) Mercury News blog: Jade Empire 2 is in development for the Xbox 360.
The first Jade Empire game was an Action RPG based on Asian mythology and legends and it was released on the original Xbox in 2005. It was published by Microsoft and developed by BioWare (the guys behind this year's Mass Effect).
Takahashi did not reveal anything about the game other than that it exists, but did speculate that Jade Empire 2 might also appear on the PS3 after EA's recent purchase of BioWare.
So while this Jade Empire 2 news sounds pretty solid, it's important to note that it does come from the man who has been saying an Xbox-branded handheld is "coming soon" for years. So, as with all rumors, take this with a grain of salt.
