Special: We continue our weeklong look at our 52 favorite games of 2007.
MotorStorm
Platform: PlayStation 3
Publisher: SCEA
Developer: Evolution Studios
Release Date: March 6, 2007
"MotorStorm is a very polished, exciting, and unique racer that may just win you over with its challenging, fun gameplay - the most important thing, after all. Besides, long as it's free, there will be additions to the game that will flesh out the features, making a more complete experience. And if history is our guide, an inevitable MotorStorm 2 will end up being a bona-fide must have. Whether that's good enough for most of us is up for debate, though. It's not a killer app to sell PS3's to the masses, but it's a good, fun game for those who already have taken the plunge on the console." - Adam Woolcott

NCAA Football 08
Platforms: PlayStation 3, Xbox 360
Publisher: EA Sports
Developer: EA Tiburon
Release Date: July 17, 2007
"This year's game isn't drastically different from NCAA 07, but NCAA Football 08 is still a lot better than its predecessor. Added depth means you'll play a ton longer, and tightened up gameplay makes for a game that plays much better than before. Campus Legend can be hit or miss, but Dynasty is as good as its ever been, and in many ways reaches the heights of the NCAA games from the middle of the last generation when EA was peaking." - Adam Woolcott

Need For Speed ProStreet
Platforms: PlayStation 3, Xbox 360
Publisher: EA Games
Developer: EA Black Box
Release Date: November 14, 2007
"Clearly, Need For Speed ProStreet is an experimental game, and it's a good direction to take, but it lacks excitement at times (the exception being the totally insane speed challenge races). There's a lot going on here and a lot of it is really cool, especially the Web 2.0 stuff with blueprints and created Race Days to be shared online, and those who spend the $60 price will definitely get their money's worth in content." - Adam Woolcott

Pac-Man: Championship Edition
Platform: Xbox Live Arcade
Publisher: Namco-Bandai
Developer: Namco-Bandai
Release Date: June 6, 2007
"It's the same Pac-Man you've always loved, but it's different. The mazes are new, the sense of speed and skill is new and the whole feeling of the game is more "present day" than "80s nostalgia." The lack of an untimed option for the new modes hurts a little, but if you're interested in Pac-Man at all, you'd do yourself well to drop 800 Points of Pac-Man: Championship Edition. It's money well-spent on the most addicting game I've played in a long time. Pac-Man CE is not just one of the great XBLA games, it is one of the great games period." - John Scalzo

Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney: Trials and Tribulations
Platform: DS
Publisher: Capcom
Developer: Capcom
Release Date: October 23, 2007
"Although Trials and Tribulations doesn't present anything new to the series, it helps to close out one of the greatest video game trilogies in recent memory. Not only does it bring each and every question you ever had from the previous games to a satisfying conclusion, it presents the trilogy's most dramatic and intense cases. If you're an Ace Attorney fanЧthis game is NOT to be missed." - Jason Young

Pokemon Diamond & Pearl
Platform: DS
Publisher: Nintendo
Developer: Game Freak
Release Date: April 22, 2007
"Pokemon Diamond & Pearl are great additions to the ever-expanding Pokemon franchise. Both newbies and veterans alike will find themselves sinking endless amounts of time into these games. Additionally, people who have been away from the games for a while will find plenty of reasons to return; if only just for the Wi-Fi battling/trading." - Jason Young
