News: Get ready to play as a Waste Allocation Load Lifter Earth-Class.

THQ has announced they will be bringing Disney/Pixar's next film, WALL-E, to various game consoles, handhelds and the PC this Summer. WALL-E tells the story of a Waste Allocation Load Lifter Earth-Class who, as the last robot on Earth, collects knick-knacks while waiting for the humans to come home. The game will be developed by Heavy Iron Studios (as most of THQ's Pixar adaptations are) and it will be released for the PS2, PS3, PSP, Xbox 360, Wii, DS and PC.

According to THQ, the game "will allow fans to relive some of the movie's most thrilling moments as they explore 10 worlds filled with non-stop action and adventure, along with head-to-head multiplayer challenges. Players will recognize the storyline, characters and key locations from the WALL-E film as they carry out intense missions, dodge dangerous enemies and navigate their way through a futuristic world. In addition, the game will contain new storylines and environments that movie-goers will not see in theaters." Players will also get the chance to play as both WALL-E and the search robot EVE.

While the news of THQ turning a new Pixar movie into a game is not surprising at all, the big news is that WALL-E is not coming to the Game Boy Advance. Last year, games based on popular chilren's properties like Spider-Man, Shrek, Surf's Up, SpongeBob, Avatar, TMNT and others all received new GBA games in addition to DS and other console versions. This non-announcement likely marks the end of major publisher support for the GBA.

We'll have more on WALL-E soon.
